If you’re here, you’ve probably been asked to verify a manufacturer’s credentials. This page covers the five certifications Fort Engineering currently holds, who issues each one, and what specifically they cover.
Every certification on this page is third-party. We don’t self-certify, and we don’t claim coverage we don’t have. The cert numbers are listed against each one, and where the issuing body publishes a live register, the link goes straight to it. Where a project needs something we don’t certify to, we’ll say so up front rather than wave a brochure around.

Loss Prevention Certification Board · BRE Group
Forced-entry resistance ratings. The standard UK specifiers cite for high-security projects across MOD, data centres, utilities, and counter-terror. Tested at LPCB-approved facilities against a defined toolkit and time-to-breach methodology.

Loss Prevention Certification Board · BRE Group
Fire integrity and insulation certification for firebreak doors and shutters. Covers three Fort Engineering products from EI₂30 up to EI₁120-C0. The Fort Vault FB4 holds the highest LPS 1056 rating in our range.
03 / Certification
LPCB / BRE Global · UKAS 0007 accredited
Quality management system certification. Routine procurement tick-box for tendered work, particularly in public sector frameworks and NHS supply chains. Demonstrates that the way we run the factory is audited, not just the products that come out of it.

D.J. Goode & Associates Ltd · UKAS Testing 4621
Bullet resistance to BS EN 1522 / 1523 at FB4 classification, the level cited for high-threat ballistic specifications in civilian construction. Fort Vault FB4 doorsets tested against .44″ Rem Magnum and .357 Magnum classification ammunition at an enclosed UKAS-accredited range in Suffolk.

Police Crime Prevention Initiatives
The police-backed crime prevention accreditation. Fort Engineering holds the SBD licence directly as the manufacturer. Frequently a precondition on housing association, social housing and local authority tenders, and increasingly cited in counter-terror education and healthcare procurement.

Independence
Every certification on this page is issued by a separate UK body. We don’t self-certify and we don’t pay for badges. If you want to cross-check anything below, the issuing body’s register is the right place to do it.
LPCB
Part of BRE Group. Issues LPS 1175 (security) and LPS 1056 (fire). Also issues our ISO 9001 under UKAS accreditation 0007. Their Red Book is the specifier reference for both standards.
DGA / UKAS 4621
UKAS-accredited testing house (4621) for ballistic resistance. Conducted the Fort Vault FB4 ballistic classification testing at their enclosed range in Suffolk in November 2020.
CPI
The Home Office-affiliated body behind Secured by Design. Owns the SBD scheme that licences manufacturers and products. Fort Engineering has held the licence directly since 2016.
UKAS
The UK’s national accreditation body. Accredits LPCB (0007) and DJ Goode (4621), which is what makes the certificates worth holding rather than just printable.

For procurement teams running formal supplier vetting: the certificates listed below are held by Fort Engineering Ltd. The cert numbers are public on the LPCB Red Book Live register, and you can verify each one without contacting us.
PDFs are sent on request rather than published publicly, because certificates are tied to specific products and revisions. We’d rather send you the right one for what you’re specifying than have you download last year’s version off a website.

Coverage
These are the certifications UK specifiers actually ask for. We hold them because the products warrant them and because procurement teams need them on file. No more, no less.
We don’t chase certification logos for marketing reasons. If you’ve come here looking for a particular standard and don’t see it listed, it means one of two things. Either it’s covered at product level by one of our four customer brands – some product-specific marks like PAS 24, BS 8621, and BS 8629 sit at brand level rather than parent level – or we don’t currently certify to it.
Either way, the fastest path is to send us the spec. If we can meet it, we’ll say so and route you to the right brand. If we can’t, we’ll tell you that too, and where appropriate point you to someone who can.

Counter-terror classroom design, BB67 / BB68 references, lockdown-rated doors with fire integrity. The standard mix on a modern school spec.

NHS framework procurement, mental health unit doors, drug-store anti-ligature requirements. Higher SR rating for higher-risk wards, fire integrity throughout.
03 / Sector
LPS 1175 SR3-4 LPS 1056
Electrical substations, gas storage, water treatment. CPNI-aligned spec. Higher SR ratings, often paired with fire integrity for control rooms.
04 / Sector
LPS 1175 SR3-4 LPS 1056
Hyperscale and colo. Physical security inside the wider data security framework. Typically SR3 perimeter, SR4 critical rooms with fire-rated assemblies.

List X / List N projects. Highest civilian SR ratings, often paired with FB4 ballistic resistance. Supplemented by military-specific standards on request.

SBD
Housing associations, social housing, new-build estates. SBD frequently a tender precondition. PAS 24 compliance handled at customer-brand level.
