FORT

A British security manufacturer.
Quietly busy since 2003.

We design and fabricate steel security doors, windows, safe rooms, and shopfronts at our Luton factory. Our customer brands handle the conversations. We handle the steel.

Fort Engineering Ltd is the British company behind a small group of security brands. We design, manufacture, certify, and ship every product from a single factory in Luton, Bedfordshire.

Our customer brands deal with you directly – Fort Security Doors, Magnificent, FS Doors, Fort Premium, and Sash Vault. Each one set up for a specific kind of buyer. The factory is shared. So is the engineering.

We’re not a reseller. We don’t badge other people’s doors. Every Fort Engineering product is cut, welded, finished, and tested in the UK, by people we employ, against standards we’ve been certified to for over twenty years.

Origin

From 1999 to now.

A British arm of a foreign manufacturer, set up to make properly certified security products for the UK market when nobody else was.

Fort Engineering Ltd started in 2003, but the story begins four years earlier. The founder, Remis G., had been in security manufacturing since 1999, inside Skydas. The pattern he kept seeing across the UK market: high-spec security doors imported from abroad, marked up, sold without proper British certification. No UK factory was producing properly LPCB-tested security products at the spec level the market actually needed.

So in 2003 he opened one. Fort Engineering Ltd is Skydas extending into the British market – engineering and manufacturing discipline brought across, then certified to the standards UK specifiers ask for. LPS 1175 intruder resistance, FB4 ballistic, FD60 fire integrity, ISO 9001 quality. Every one of them earned at the Luton factory.

The customer side grew brand by brand. A homeowner doesn’t want the same conversation as a commercial buyer, and neither of them wants the same conversation as someone fitting out a prime London property. Over fifteen years we split the selling into separate brands: Fort Security Doors (2010), Magnificent (2013), FS Doors (2016), Fort Premium (2020), and Sash Vault (2024). Each one set up for a specific kind of customer. The factory stays under one roof.

The team has grown. The certifications list has grown. The thing that hasn’t changed: we still make every door, window, safe room, and shopfront in Luton.

What we make

Steel doors, windows, safe rooms, and shopfronts.

Four product categories, all cut, welded, finished, and tested at the Luton factory. Each one a deep specialism with its own production line and certifications.

Location

Luton, Bedfordshire.
And anywhere we can ship.

The factory is in Luton, half an hour north of London. Every product the company sells starts and finishes here – steel cutting, welding, assembly, finishing, glazing, and the final round of testing all happen on one site. Nothing is white-labelled. Nothing is shipped half-finished from somewhere else.

Most of what we make goes to UK addresses. A growing share leaves the country – we’ve shipped to Hong Kong, the United States, South Africa, and across the EU. International commercial work, private projects, embassies – jobs where the spec calls for British certification. We don’t chase international volume. When the contract justifies the freight, we deliver.
